Membership Information & Requirements
Members of Siskiyou County R/C'ers love sharing the joys of flying radio-controlled aircraft with others. New members are always welcome, and even if you've never flown an R/C aircraft before, there are club members who are happy to help you learn. - Our club members now have the choice of flying at two different locations. One is located at the Siskiyou County Airport and the other at the west side of the City of Montague. Please see "Field Maps" for details.

There are three membership types:
- Adult, $50/Year - Ages 18 or older, enjoy full Club privileges and the right to vote at Club meetings
- Family, $8/Year - Each additional family member within same household
- Junior, $8/Year - Age 17 or younger, enjoy full Club privileges without the right to vote at Club meetings
Here are a few examples:
- Three family members (an adult, and two younger family members, ages 15 and 17), their combined annual club dues would be $66.
- Two family members, both of whom are Juniors but the parents are not members, their combined annual club dues would be $16.
- A husband and wife (both adults), their combined annual club dues would be $58.
To Be a Flying Member You Must:
- Belong to the Academy of Model Aeronautics. The AMA is a nationwide, community-based organization (CBO) that promotes safe and responsible flying practices and, among many other things, provides R/C clubs and its members with personal injury and liability insurance.
- Obtain an FAA registration number. Registration costs $5 and is good for three years. Starting March 16, 2024, the FAA will be enforcing the Remote ID rule which requires RC pilots to obtain a Remote ID broadcast module which must be placed in or on your aircraft. Here is an example of an FAA approved broadcast module: Remote ID broadcast module. Once you receive your broadcast module, you'll need to register it on the FAA website using its unique serial number. Clicking here will allow you to get an FAA registration number. You'll have to create an FAA account with your email and a password. For Recreational Fliers, you'll want to choose, "I fly under the 'The Exception for Recreational Flyers.'" - Read and understand the County of Siskiyou – Letter of Agreement in its entirety and take special note of Exhibit C - Siskiyou County R/C'ers Operating Rules (pages 14-15) and Exhibit A - Siskiyou County R/C’ers Operations Area (page 12). - Read, understand and agree to conduct yourself in accordance with our Club's Bylaws.
- Complete the Siskiyou County R/C'ers Membership Application Form (below).
- Pay annual Siskiyou County R/C'ers club dues. Please see description above.
- Contact a Club Officer or a Club Flight Instructor to make an appointment at one of our fields for an orientation.
Maintaining Membership
To remain a club member, one must keep his membership with the AMA current. Siskiyou County R/C’ers membership will immediately terminate if AMA membership lapses. Please refer to our Club's Bylaws for further details.
